Pure Water: Continued 2
The Amazing Benefits of Drinking Pure Water
Drinking adequate amounts of pure water can lead to astounding results. Softer skin, shinier hair, more energy—just to name a few. According to Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, many health conditions can be improved simply by re-hydrating the body. While different parts of the body may re-hydrate at different rates, the overall benefits are undeniable.
The Power of Water Fasting
One of the fastest ways to rehydrate your body is through water fasting—consuming nothing but water for a period of time. This practice, while extreme, has been medically supervised at TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, California, where they’ve seen incredible results with clients undergoing this process.
How Much Water Should You Drink?
The amount of water you should drink can vary greatly from person to person. For me, at my heaviest weight of around 250 lbs and a high body fat percentage, I found that 3-4 gallons a day was the right amount. I felt no ill effects from drinking this much water, but I am not recommending that you consume this much. Please consult with a doctor before making any drastic changes to your hydration habits, especially if you have health concerns.
It's important to remember that what worked for me might not work for everyone. I’m aware of only one other person—Brian Turner, who shares his journey on YouTube—who drank 2-3 gallons of water per day with success. It's possible that you may need to gradually increase your intake over time, especially if you're starting with lower levels of hydration.
My Personal Experience: A Day of Hydration
When I was consuming large amounts of water, I’d begin my day by drinking 96 ounces (about 3 liters) within the first hour and a half after waking up. It was only after this that I felt truly rehydrated from the night before. Yes, this meant I’d wake up 2-3 times a night to urinate. If you find it difficult to fall back asleep after waking up to use the bathroom, this method might not be ideal for you. But even drinking just an extra 24 ounces per day can be beneficial when you're dealing with any health issue.
Time Is Key: Be Patient
If you’re struggling with chronic health problems, it may take time before you notice significant changes. Your body needs time to rehydrate and heal. For me, it took months to experience the improvements in my skin and hair that I now attribute to increased hydration. While incorporating a large portion of fresh vegetables into my diet may have helped, I truly believe the magic happened with the water.
This practice of drinking 1.5 gallons or more per day is still a new science that deserves more attention and research. Unfortunately, because the current healthcare model is so entrenched and profitable, this simple, low-cost solution may never get the widespread recognition it deserves. But we can hope.
Water vs. Other Beverages
You might wonder if you can achieve the same results by drinking other hydrating beverages like tea, juice, or coffee. While these drinks may provide some hydration, nothing hydrates like pure water. Tea, coffee, and sodas just don’t have the same level of hydration power. To get the most impressive results, pure water is the way to go.
Key Takeaways:
-
Pure water is essential for optimal hydration and healing.
-
Hydration needs vary from person to person—consult a doctor before making big changes.
-
The most powerful hydration comes from water fasting, but it should be medically supervised.
-
Patience is important—results may take months, but the benefits are worth it.
-
Tea, juice, or coffee don’t hydrate like pure water. Stick to pure, filtered water for the best results.
Next Steps:
If you’re ready to start your hydration journey, I encourage you to gradually increase your water intake and pay attention to how your body feels. Keep in mind that water alone can be a game-changer, but when paired with other healthy lifestyle changes—like eating fresh vegetables and minimizing processed foods—the benefits can be even greater.
